I didn't believe it intentional, therefore I would be fine with a replay of the match. If we want to take a hard line, that's understandable as well. Yes you may be ok with it, but how many times has he used this formation. Others have been knocked out because of this and that in itself deserves Disq... like you say i am sure its not intentional, but that would underline what I'm saying, intentional or non intentional others have been effected by this breach. I know I am being hard on this but I do feel that we are being very nice and I do think in the first tournament there is a place for it but the fact that this could have effected others is not fair. |

sorry it seems that i am too late here.
I have to say that its a shame that others would have been knocked out but on the other hand he has shown his worth i suppose.. I deleted his name from the winner of that section, I'm just bit confused as to where we are.

Ben, this is the event that precipitated my posting of the Laying Down the Law thread.
One issue is that we wanted to make a decision ASAP, but didn't have time to get all the directors involved. A mistake was made, but I think we just need to roll with it at this point. We got caught up with trying to be nice and it was most certainly a mistake, but one we're learning from.
It's possible other opponents of lolfishcakes were also going up against 4 nano unit formations, but since they failed to report it, I would consider those to be moot points by now.

The changes we're making should lead to everything running significantly smoother next tournament.

Thanks for the response Ben. As this tournament is finding its legs, I thought a replay of the match was a fair enough solution. I also thought a finalist should get there by merit, rather than a technicality. Lolfish defeated me 2-1. We will take a hard line approach next tournament. All in all this has been a great tourney and we are building something great. It's a learning process at the end of the day.
