Participating members, you must "sign off" by posting on this thread. Please include your guild affiliation and which timezone (or hemisphere) you live in.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. No boss drops(dexter, sinister, melee, ranged, egg, phalanx)
2. No unit repeats - all 7 units MUST be different
3. WB1 and WB2(and other similar type units) are considered the same unit.
4. That’s it…. ALL remaining units are legal with no limitations of any certain kind
Format
KC5 will be a round robin style tournament with a 40(48) player field, comprised of 2 entries from 18(22) registered guilds and each of the 4 semifinalists from KC4. The field will be divided into 8 groups of either 5 or 6 players. Each player will play 4 or 5 round robin matches against the other players in their group. The player with the best record advances to an 8 player finals, single elimination playoff bracket. The enlarged round robin groups should alleviate the tie scenarios we ran into last tournament.
Matches will be best of 3 format, with rounds 1 and 2 alternating who goes first. Round 3 will be a quick draw. All 3 rounds with each player must be carried out. This is to ensure a group winner can be selected based on match record if a tie-breaker is needed.
The semifinal matches will be best of 5 where games 1 and 5 are quickdraw, and games 2-4 are alternating turns based on who went 1st in game 1.
The championship match will be best of 7, where games 1 and 7 are quickdraw, 2-6 are alternating turn. Same as semis just adding an additional match or two.
New Director
We'd like to welcome our newest director to the Kings Cup, Byty1977. His interest and involvement with the ongoing discussion of many aspects of the Kings Cup made him an easy choice to fill The vacant spot Enbee created with his retirement. We look forward to working with Byty1977 in this tournament and future ones.
Submitting Match Results
The winner of each match is responsible for posting their results or having a guild representative do so on their behalf within 24 hours of completion. A moderator must also be notified within 24 hours so they may update the bracket. Directors will be listed by their Time Zone, for player convenience.
Terms For Disqualification
1) Inappropriate forum behavior or trolling.
2) Failure to "sign off" on tournament rules.
3) Use of an illegal formation.
4) Failure to accept your opponents friend request.
The DQ Process
If your opponent violates a tournament rule with an illegal formation, you must notify your region's moderator immediately. Rule violations will result in an immediate DQ. Please be advised that if a violation is made, even unintentionally, a DQ will still be given. This is necessary to ensure the tournament finishes within a reasonable time frame, and also to prevent lengthy debates regarding player intent.
