KC5 - Enbee's Chalice of Malice - Rules, Format, and Theme

Enbee's Chalice of Malice!

After a summer Hiatus the Kings Cup is returning for all you die hard PvPers who just couldn't get enough! In honor of our departed comrade, Long-Time director Enbee, we are dubbing the 5th King's Cup installment Enbee's Chalice of Malice. Below are the rulles and unit restrictions for this latest and greatest tournament of champions:



Tournament rules:

• No repeated units allowed in a formation, units may be repeated from game to game over the course of a match, but a formation must contain 7 unique units.
• Wild Boar 1 and 2, shadowhornet and shadowwasp, and the multileveled tiers of an infected unit type are considered the same unit. WBI and WBII cannot be used in the same formation as they are the same unit in the eyes of this tournament.
• No boss drops – This includes Phalanx Tanks, Spiderwasp Eggs, Ranged/Melee AS Fragments, and Sinister/ Dexter AC Fragments
• That’s it…. ALL remaining units are legal with no limitations of any certain kind (other than zombies… cause Z2 thinks any more than 3 would be unfair)

Matches will remain the best of 3 format. Game 1 and 3 will be quick draw, game 2 will be the alternate player taking 1st turn. If you need a refresher course:

• In game 1 the fastest player to set their troops and hit fight will be awarded the first turn by the nature of the BN programming
•  The player who went 1st in game 1 must wait to hit fight in game 2 until the timer reaches 20 seconds remaining. The player who went 2nd in game 1 will have approximately 60 seconds to place their units and hit fight if they wish to receive the 1st turn for the game 2. If this player fails to hit fight before 20 seconds, and receives 2nd turn, then they have forfeited the 1st turn in game 2. 
  
• Game 3 reverts back to the quickdraw turn determination, since both players will have theoretically gone first in 1 of the first 2 games. Therefore game 3 is a tie-breaker in the purest sense. 
  

The semifinal matches will be best of 5 where games 1 and 5 are quickdraw, and games 2-4 are alternating turns based on who went 1st in game 1.


The championship match will be best of 7, where games 1 and 7 are quickdraw, 2-6 are alternating turn. Same as semis just adding an additional match or two.


KC5 will be a round robin style tournament with a 32 player field, comprised of 2 entries from 14 registered guilds and each of the 4 semifinalists from KC4. The smaller field will allow us to hopefully complete the tournament in a two week period in between invasion and BS events. the less games there are the easier it is to complete in time.
