Once we have enough directors, we need to start making some decisions for tournament rules.
For example, we must decide if:
1. We want to restrict or limit use of nano units
2. There are any particular units in general we want to restrict or limit
3. We should develop separate tournaments according to player level (suggested by ShyBenji), etc.
Feel free to add things. Not sure what will constitute "enough" directors to start deciding these things, but eventually we can get some polls going to assist in this decision making process.

Hey guys, Glad to see there is a limit on the Nano units, think it would have frustrated many a player if Nano units were not allowed at all - if this takes off maybe in addition to Tournaments according to player level there could be non-Nano tournaments? Thoughts regarding both players getting to go first - at the moment this is determined by which player is waiting the longest? Rather than a player skipping his turn (which in some cases would still give the skipper an advantage as the LM cry and Wild Boar attack just need a 1 turn prep) the starter of the second match, must be the person who started second in the first match, the third and final match can be down to who ever is quicker ;-). The way to avoid skipping and giving away an advantage would be for the player who started in the first match to wait until the 60 second mark before pressing go, this way the other player will definitely get to start a match. I hope this makes sense and we will be able to easily explain this to the contestants. With regards to restricting units, are AC/Imitator frags allowed? The one plane rule is excellent fighting against two boars is such a bore...Another thought is the LM - I know it is a Nano unit and therefore restricted to a max of two...but it is a beast what are your thoughts on allowing only 1 of them per match? Are these matches meant to be back to back or are contestants allowed to Nano-recall units? I would personally want to go for back to back matches to see a variety of formations used. What happens if there is a draw situation - unlikely with only 1 plane each, but there are ways that it can happen. Are we requesting evidence of victories from the contestants? Would it be wise to advise everyone to take a screen shot of the before and after battle in case a dispute arises? (I really hope that everyone that signs up will be mature and honest - but you never know). I will get the names of the 4 contestants from Clause 61 posted asap and get them to register as well. Kush

That's a good note on going first. That paragraph made sense to me, so hopefully just copying and pasting it should suffice.
I'm also in favor of limiting the LMs.

What about Nano recalls? Personally I would say not allowed and the matches have to be back to back to avoid any opportunity for it.

I knew I was missing something. I'd favor no recalls, but it would be pretty hard to enforce and identify violations of that rule.
I think we need to make a list of what things need to be decided, and then we can open up a separate poll for each issue.

ok.. my input.
Agreed on the turn thingy.
agreed on the use of 1 LM
I think that Nano units should be 3, i think that limiting the LM (the OP unit) should sort any issues out there.
Back to back matches are essential, no point in saying about nano recalls as there is no way to monitor it, the reason for B2B I would say is that people need to find time to fight, if they do 1 then wait the other persons may not be available again.

Hey guys. My thoughts are to limit only certain units. So only 1 plane, 1 LM. No frags. Otherwise, I don't see a need to limit nano units. The people here participating should all have ranked up nano units and as long as there is no frag or LM spamming, I think it will balance. There's such a good variety of nano units, from animals to soldiers to tanks that it won't be prejudicial.
Just my 2 cents.

I do like Nano Units I must admit that they are a vital part of the game (and my usual FvF formations), but I am glad there is a restriction on Nano units as it adds more of a challenge and will definitely promote contestants having to think outside the box. I would not mind the restriction being lifted to 3 Nano units if everyone agrees.
Just to point out if the matches are back to back as in both players click rematch and the screen immediately moves to the formation placing screen there is no avenue for Nano recalling your troops. We must stress that before the match starts both Contestants need to confirm they are available for at least the next 20minutes with good internet access!!
One query that I have had for a while but that I keep forgetting to raise is AC fragments? They are not OP by any means but are they restricted or not?
